Teri Hatcher distanced herself from her ‘Desperate Housewives’ castmates, even as the series finale aired on Sunday night, the Huffington Post is reporting. Her fellow stars, including Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman and Vanessa Williams, said goodbye to their successful show after eight seasons, but Hatcher neglected to promote the final season with them. Ex-Murdoch Editor Rebekah Brooks Charged in Phone Hacking Case
Former chief executive of Rupert Murdoch’s British tabloid empire, Rebekah Brooks, is one of six people to be charged over alleged attempts to conceal evidence of the country’s tabloid phone hacking scandal, MSNBC is reporting. Alison Levitt, the principal legal adviser to Britain’s Director of Public Prosecutions, released a statement saying “there is sufficient evidence for there to be a realistic prospect of conviction.” If Brooks is convicted, she could face a prison sentence. Others to be charged in the case are Brooks’ race horse trainer husband, her secretary and other staff from News International, including her driver and security officials. Former Cruise Ship Worker Fired For John Travolta Neck Massage
A former room steward on a Royal Caribbean cruise line is claiming he was fired in 2009 after John Travolta asked him for a neck massage, TMZ is reporting. The cruise line worker, Fabian Zanzi, filed an official incident report, though the documents didn’t mention any overt sexual overture on the part of the ‘Savages’ star. Zanzi said he was delivering something to the actor’s room when Travolta asked him for the message. The steward obliged Travolta’s request, after which the actor invited him to return to visit him later that night. JPMorgan Chief Investment Officer Expected to Resign
JPMorgan Chase is preparing to accept the resignation of Ina Drew, its chief investment officer, after the bank lost $2 billion in a trade, Business Week is reporting. Drew, who is one of the highest-paid officials at the bank, offered to resign several times since Thursday, when CEO Jamie Dimon announced the loss. JPMorgan Chase accepted after pressure built over the weekend. Drew’s departure comes as JPMorgan, the largest bank in America, is trying to minimize the damage the $2 billion loss cost. Reese Witherspoon Attends Father’s Bigmay Case Hearing
Reese Witherspoon accompanied her parents, John and Mary, on Friday to her father’s emergency hearing in his bigamy case in Davidson County, Tennessee, US Weekly is reporting. The hearing was scheduled to determine if John should be placed in a conservatorship. Early last week, Mary filed court documents, accusing her estranged husband of bigamy. President Obama Says Same Sex Marriage Should Be Legalized
President Obama has decided that he will endorse same-sex marriage, the New York Times is reporting. The endorsement comes after Vice President Biden supported same-sex marriage on Sunday during a talk show interview. Advisers are saying that Obama was intending on announcing his position before September, when the Democratic party will nominate him for re-election. Brendan Fraser Sues Producers of The Legend of William Tell: 3D
Brendan Fraser is suing the producers of the film ‘The Legend of William Tell: 3D,’ as he’s claiming they failed to pay him his $2 million acting fees, TMZ is reporting. The actor filed the lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court, saying producer Todd Moyer hired him in early 2011 to appear in the film. He added that he was promised shooting would begin in October of that year. John Travolta Insists Second Masseur is Lying About Sexual Harassment
John Travolta is insisting the second anonymous male masseur who’s accused him of sexual harassment is lying, and the claim is “just as absurd and ridiculous as the first one,” TMZ is reporting. The second accuser filed legal documents, claiming the ‘Savages’ actor grabbed his genitals and masturbated during a massage session on January 28 at an Atlanta spa resort. Travolta’s attorney, Marty Singer, released a statement in response, calling the allegations absurd and fictional. Suspect’s Wife and Mother Arrested in Killing of Tennessee Mother and Daughter
The wife and mother of Adam Mayes, the man suspected of killing a Tennessee woman and her oldest daughter and kidnapping her two younger daughters, have been arrested, MSNBC is reporting. Mayes’ wife, Teresa, is charged with four counts of aggravated kidnapping. His mother, Mary Francis, is charged with four counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated kidnapping. Teresa and Mary were arraigned this morning. In a police affidavit, Teresa said that she was involved in taking the Bain family from Hardeman County. She drove them to Union County, Mississippi. Mila Kunis reportedly saved the life of a 50-year-old man who works in her Los Angeles home, TMZ is reporting. The incident occurred on Saturday, during which the man collapsed and suffered a violent seizure. The man was choking, coughing up blood and vomiting. He had even bit through his tongue. The 28-year-old ‘Ted’ actress had her friend call 911 as she ran to the man’s side. Kunis grabbed the man’s head and turned it to the side so he wouldn’t choke any further. Nicolas Sarkozy Defeated in French Presidential Election
Nicolas Sarkozy lost the French presidential election yesterday to Socialist Francois Hollande, MSNBC is reporting. The loss makes Sarkozy the first French one-term president since 1981, when Valery Giscard d’Estaing lost his reelection campaign. Scoring 48.4 percent of the vote, Sarkozy said “I take full responsibility for this defeat. My engagement in the public life of my country will be different from now on. Mila Kunis’ alleged homeless stalker, Stuart Dunn, followed the ‘Ted’ actress to a gym on Friday, TMZ is reporting. After Kunis’ security team set off the alarm at the gym, Dunn was detained by police. Law enforcement officials confirmed authorities are investigating Dunn, who showed up at the gym three days in a row last week looking for Kunis. Vice President Joe Biden said he’s comfortable with same-sex couples having the same rights as heterosexual couples, Fox News is reporting. Amanda Bynes was involved in a second hit-and-run accident on Thursday night in Hollywood, TMZ is reporting. The ‘Easy A’ star allegedly sideswiped a car while driving her Range Rover near the intersection of Crescent Heights and Melrose Blvd. The man driving the other car said Bynes’ SUV hit him as she was trying to pass him on the right.
